Coffee Cake
encaustic, oils, and coffee beans on wood, 12" diameter
One only (GONE !, but I can paint something similar): $500.00

I live in Seattle. On every street corner, coffee is brewed in 57 flavors and sizes. Then we shake chocolate, cinnamon and vanilla atop our sculpted whipped foam. Who needs dessert?

I often say that I want my paint surface to look edible. The process of encaustic painting, even more than oils, feels like the icing on a cake. I like the marriage of content and medium. In all of my work I love to make visual puns.

The paintings can be hung individually or as an installation varying size and shape.

This painting is made with encaustic paint, a wax-based medium, so keep it away from the heat!
