Chocolate Curls
encaustic and oils on plaster and wood, 18" diameter
One only: (GONE !, but I can paint something similar) $900.00

To make chocolate curls:  Melt cocolate and let it cool on a slab of marble, the cocolate should be just set. Then scrape a sharp knife into the chocolate at 45 degree angles,in a sawing motion from right to left and left to right. Remove by putting a knife under the curl and lift it off. Leave until firm.

I often say that I want my paint surface to look edible. The process of encaustic painting, even more than oils, feels like the icing on a cake. I like the marriage of content and medium. In all of my work I love to make visual puns.

The paintings can be hung individually or as an installation varying size and shape.

This painting is made with encaustic paint, a wax-based medium, so keep it away from the heat!
