Marzipan Honey-Apple Cake
encaustic and oils on wood, 18" diameter
One only (GONE !, but I can paint something similar): $900.00

Marzipan is the baker’s play-dough. You can dye it any color, and sculpt with it. I wonder if the bees would be fooled?

I often say that I want my paint surface to look edible. The process of encaustic painting, even more than oils, feels like the icing on a cake. I like the marriage of content and medium. In all of my work I love to make visual puns.

The paintings can be hung individually or as an installation varying size and shape.

This painting is made with encaustic paint, a wax-based medium, so keep it away from the heat!
